Singer Son Dambi is making her
comeback after one year with the release of her third digital single, “Red Candle” on December
23! Not only that, Son Dambi recruited Jonghyun for a special
comeback! According to Pledis Entertainment, Son Dambi wanted to take a
step back from her sexy dancer-singer image and focus on her singing. In search
of a fresh sound, she received several demos submitted by various composers,
which included Jonghyun!
It has been reported that while she was
looking for a new song, she was recommended to consult SHINee’s Jonghyun, who
is widely known to be a talented songwriter. (It is a prove that Jonghyun had already known as a good
songwriter! Not just for “Gloomy Clock” for IU, but now it’s also for Son
Dambi.)
Jonghyun chose the interesting genre of bossa
nova (which is a Brazilian music style that fuses samba and jazz) and created a song that would match her sexy
image and unique voice. However, he did not just stop at composing and writing
the lyrics. He even helped her as a vocal director, showing a passionate
diligence towards music.
